Opawica Explorations

Blake Morgan, Opawica Explorations | Metals Mining Review | Gold Exploration Company of the Year in CanadaBlake Morgan, CEO, President & Director
In the Abitibi Gold Belt, one of the world’s richest gold-bearing regions, Opawica Explorations is pioneering the next Canadian gold rush.

With three strategically located properties in the region—Bazooka, Arrowhead and McWatters—the dynamic junior exploration company transforms each drill and survey into a high-grade gold discovery.

Opawica’s properties are located near major gold mining companies like Yamana Gold, Iamgold and Agnico Eagle, positioning it at the center of a highly productive mining zone. The properties boast grades and mineralization that rival those of major gold producers.

Abitibi is a highly competitive, resource-rich district with hidden lodes waiting to be unearthed. Using a targeted drilling strategy, Opawica is working toward unearthing multi-million-ounce gold deposits, establishing itself as an attractive acquisition target for mining behemoths.

“As we advance our drilling and exploration, we are positioned to transform from a junior explorer into a key player in this world-class mining district,” says Blake Morgan, CEO, president & director.

Over the past five years, it has raised over $8 million in exploration capital, fueling projects with strong mineralization and high-grade results. Opawica's financial strength leaves it primed for significant growth, with favorable operating conditions fueling the momentum. Quebec's pro-mining policies and robust governmental support create an ideal environment for exploration. The region's well-established infrastructure, including paved roads and a steady water supply, complements this. Sustainability is another key advantage. Quebec’s renewable hydroelectric power drives Opawica’s operations, allowing it to balance mining success with environmental responsibility.

Unlocking the Value of Prime Gold Properties

The Bazooka property is Opawica’s most promising asset. It is completely surrounded by Agnico Eagle and adjacent to Yamana Gold's Wasamac project, which holds over two million ounces of gold and was recently acquired for $2.6 billion. This underscores the region’s value and the potential for additional high-yield discoveries. Iamgold’s Mouska gold mine is near this, further solidifying its position as an exceptionally gold-saturated environment.

As We Advance Our Drilling And Exploration, We Are Positioned To Transform From A Junior Explorer Into A Key Player In This World-class Mining District

To the east of Bazooka lies a project previously owned by Yorbeau Resources that shares geological similarities with Opawica’s holdings.

Yorbeau was recently acquired for $25 million despite being in the early stages of exploration. This highlights growing investor interest in the area and the potential value of emerging mining ventures.

Opawica envisions exponential growth from its current market value of over $7 million. It has already secured non-disclosure agreements with three major mining corporations, indicating ongoing industry interest and the possibility of future partnerships or acquisitions. For now, it has opted to continue exploration and drilling efforts to maximize the value of its assets. This calculated approach positions Opawica for a substantial growth in market valuation as drilling progresses.

  • By Systematically Developing Our Properties, We Aim To Attract Buyout Interest From Leading Industry Players

Given its proximity to a major mining region, Opawica is well-positioned to leverage established infrastructure and resources, enhancing its exploration efforts and operational efficiency. Opawica is located just 10 kilometers from Rouyn-Noranda, a key hub for gold production in Quebec. The town’s rich mining heritage continues to support exploration and extraction activities. Opawica operates out of Rouyn-Noranda, eliminating the need for remote camps and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.

Strategic Exploration Unleashing High-Grade Gold Potential

Opawica has invested heavily in exploration endeavors, conducting extensive surveys and assessments, including airborne and downhole geophysics, polarization surveys and ground reconnaissance. A Phase 1 drill program has been completed at the Bazooka and Arrowhead properties. Notably, the Arrowhead project set a regional milestone by becoming the first to undergo a seismic survey, a technology that enables deeper geological analysis compared to traditional exploration methods.

Through this survey, Opawica has identified three distinct geological structures at depths of approximately 300, 500 and 1,000 meters. These findings are particularly significant given the precedent set by Agnico Eagle’s La Ronde mine, initially discovered at 300 meters. Subsequent discoveries at 500 and 1,000 meters ultimately extended La Ronde’s mineralization to 2.5 kilometers deep. The Arrowhead property exhibits a similar geological pattern, reinforcing confidence in its potential to yield high-grade gold.

Currently, Opawica is conducting a 5,000-meter drill program at Bazooka as part of a larger plan to complete 20,000 meters across Bazooka and Arrowhead—10,000 meters at each site. It plans to raise additional capital to support this ambitious initiative, ensuring continued exploration and development. With more extensive geophysical surveys and drilling on the horizon, it can evaluate the subsurface deposits.

Opawica has also integrated advanced technologies in collaboration with EarthLabs Inc., a Canadian company that uses AI and data science to transform the mineral discovery process. The advanced machine-learning approach enhances target verification and streamlines exploration strategies.

Initial exploration of just 10 percent of its flagship projects has uncovered astronomical gold content. Intercepts include six meters grading 77 grams per ton (g/t) gold, 7.5 meters at 25 g/t gold and 20 meters at 7.7 g/t gold. These findings reinforce Opawica’s confidence in its resource potential and the likelihood of developing a multi-million-ounce gold deposit.

“By systematically developing our properties, we aim to attract buyout interest from leading industry players,” says Morgan.

With established mills and a reputed presence in the region, the focus is on building value through exploration rather than direct mining operations.

Unmatched Expertise that Fuels Growth

Opawica’s leadership is a key factor in its success. Morgan, a third-generation miner, began his career in Australia, building on the experience and knowledge passed down from his father and grandfather. He worked with Rio Tinto, a leading metals and mining corporation, for six years before transitioning to negotiating land access agreements with Indigenous communities to ensure major mining companies explore certain areas with mutually beneficial contracts.

The melting pot of talent at Opawica brings a wealth of expertise from public markets, regulatory affairs and mining finance, positioning the company for long-term success in the competitive mining sector. With extensive experience in financial markets and a deep understanding of government funding and regulations, the team is well-equipped to navigate industry challenges and act on new opportunities. Their collective insight and strategic vision support continued growth and strong operational execution.

Opawica plans to expand through focused exploration, strategic partnerships and disciplined capital use. Over the next year, it will continue drilling across its properties to increase asset value and improve returns.

With ongoing resource development, Opawica is well-positioned for a major advancement in the Abitibi region. As drilling progresses, Opawica Explorations carries the torch of exploration, standing at the brink of transformational discovery.
